HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) is a unique field; it literally never goes out of season and is one of those rare specialties that will always be in demand. If you are out of work and are looking for a job, have no fear; these HVAC jobs are ever present. Georgia, California, or New York– the location does not matter. You should be working again in no time.

Have you looked at the job boards lately? Positions in HVAC are available in every state and country in the world. It is the one industry that people absolutely must have all the time. If it is wintertime, you need heat; summertime, you have to have air conditioning; and every building in the world has to have ventilation of one sort or another and that means they need HVAC people. That is where you come in.

There are many different forms of HVAC jobs. Dallas’s needs are be different than Portland’s. You can either pick a specialty or be a well-rounded technician; all you need to do is the proper research. You will find a position that fits you perfectly. You will see all kinds of listings—HVAC jobs in Georgia, HVAC jobs in Seattle, HVAC jobs in Dallas—the listings go on and on. We all know the country is in a recession, but you would not know it based on this industry.

Very few fields have specialty boards dedicated to one type of industry, but this profession is one of them. Do a search on HVAC job availability and you will be amazed at what you see. Site after site has pages and pages of opportunities available for the right individuals.

A lot of us are not happy where we are located and would prefer to live somewhere else. Maybe you do not like the heat or you maybe you love the cold. Now is the time to decide, because at this point you can choose your destination and be all but assured that there is an opportunity available for you wherever you are going.

In checking locations on one site, opportunities were available in fifteen different states and every one of them was a new post. Go back to three days ago and there are multiple opportunities available in every state in the nation. That is just one site; there are hundreds of them out there dealing specifically with HVAC and there are hundreds more offering positions that deal with just about every profession you can imagine.

Another bright spot is that these positions are not only diversely located, they are in all areas of HVAC and in all different venues of the industry. Positions are available working for hotels, office buildings, restaurant chains, resorts, and many other areas that you probably never even dreamed of.

Never forget that companies large enough to have multiple outlets and entire buildings will not want to pay a service fee every time something breaks down. They are looking for well-rounded individuals who specialize in HVAC but who are able to fix other things as well. This is your opportunity to get out and explore other industries and make yourself that much more appetizing to the next employer. Exploit this situation and land one of these great opportunities.

Now that you know how popular the field is, you are going to have to decide exactly where you are going to look for a job. For instance, if you like the heat you are going to be working primarily on air-conditioning units. If you like cold weather, you are going to be working primarily on heating systems, but you are also going to have to be experienced in air conditioning for the changing of the seasons. This is vital during your job search because you must make sure you have the proper experience for the locations where you are seeking to obtain employment.

You should not rule out jobs because they mean relocating; quite the opposite. This is usually an opportunity to get everything you want in a job. When companies hire people that have to relocate, they are doing so because they are extremely impressed and have not been able to find the talent locally. Not to say you are going to break the bank, but you should be able to get yourself into a professional environment that is much more to your satisfaction. Furthermore, they know they are getting a dedicated staff member as you are choosing to pick up and move to a new location just to work for them.

If you are a well-rounded technician with the ability to work on things other than HVAC, you may also want to look into jobs that include accommodations as part of your salary. You would be required to fix more than HVAC units, but the ability to would make your relocation that much more simple.

Whatever your specialty and whatever your location, make sure you do the proper research. The Internet is a wonderful tool to get you started and will expose you to HVAC job openings all across the country. This is your chance to get the job you want, where you want. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you need to take full advantage of while you can.
